An abandoned tent has been found near the Coastal Path and if not claimed it will be disposed of on Friday 1stOctober.

Currently the Community Council is looking for a Community minded individual to fill the position of Minute Secretary. The role involves taking accurate minutes during council meetings (10 per year) and any impromptu public meetings. Meeting transcripts will be required in Microsoft Word format within 48 hours. Full details including remuneration can be obtained by contacting the Secretary via email  secretary@colvendcommunity.co.uk or by phone on 01556 630598.

  • Rockcliffe Connect for residents of Rockcliffe

Saturday, 30 October, 2021 - 10:00 to 16:00

Taking the mystery out of drawing and watercolours for complete beginners 

If you know nothing about drawing or watercolours but would love to know more then this relaxed and informative day is a great starting point for you to get to grips with it all.

All materials provided and with plenty of demonstrations and step by step instructions you cannot fail to fall in love with this fantastic medium.

The workshop will initially concentrate on basic drawing skills, materials, colour theory and colour mixing, not forgetting brush technique and brush control. We will move swiftly on to practical exercises to help you learn quickly and effectively the skills you need to advance to a painting. For those wishing to progress towards a simple landscape ‘painting’, Kate will demonstrate by a follow - me type demonstration to help you gain confidence in your newly acquired skills 

These introductory days can be followed up with further sessions to help you gain confidence and build on the skills you have learnt and apply your new skills to a wealth of subject matter.

Cost £95.00 including all materials and refreshments.

 Bring a packed lunch.

Acrylics are seen as an attractive and easy medium for the amateur painter. However, Kate firmly believes that you still need a good foundation course into the basic essentials and skills required to use this diverse medium to its limits ..whilst still having fun of course!

  • The workshop will initially concentrate on materials and medium usage, not forgetting brush and palette knife technique.  We will move swiftly on to practical exercises to help you learn quickly and effectively the skills you need to advance to a painting.

  • These skills are also transferable to those interested in progressing into oil paint in the future.

These introductory days can be followed up with further sessions to help you gain confidence and build on the skills you have learnt and apply your new skills to a wealth of subject matter.

Cost £95.  Including all materials and refreshments.  Bring a packed lunch.
